You most likely were taught that the U.S. federal government was structured under the Constitution to have three co-equal branches. We The People sat on top and elected a bi-cameral Congress, with a House of Representatives comprised of members with two year terms by population, and a Senate comprised of 100 members (two from each state) with six year terms. The executive was elected every four years through the electoral college. A judiciary appointed by the executive with advice and consent from the Senate. The Supreme Court since Marbury v Madison has interpreted laws to ensure fidelity to the Constitution. The legislature and executive branches were ultimately accountable to the citizenry.
But that was then and this is now.
The Regime has been operating with complete subterfuge, so it’s hard to know for sure. It’s designed for you not to really know who is making decisions, but we all know two things. Joe Biden isn’t making any of them and Barack Obama is making most of the material policy calls.
What do I think the government really looks like now? Barack sits on top with an inner circle of Susan Rice, Samantha Power, Valerie Jarrett and John Kerry and maybe a few others. Beneath Barack is the Deep State, alphabet bureaucracy, accountable to no one—FBI, DHS, CIA, IRS, Dept of Energy and the like. The legislature is impotent, and The Regime has begun to ignore and show contempt for the Supreme Court. It is openly defying its ruling on student loans, and threatens members either openly (as Biden did in his State of the Union address and Chuck Schumer did, “you won’t know what hit you.”) or with inaction (denying them protection from the mobs after the Dobbs decision). The Regime mostly governs by Executive Order now.
Immediately following the pandemic and Trump’s loss in the questionable 2020 election, I recognized the tyrannical turn and characterized the Biden/Obama Regime as “Techno-Medical Bolshevism with a Reverse Apartheid Twist.”
In retrospect, I didn’t get it quite right. It’s really a hybrid between Bolshevism and Nazism. We have been attuned to recognize both, but because The Regime does not have a single charismatic leader like a Lenin, Mao, or old Adolph, many Americans do not recognize the autocratic turn we have taken. It is, I believe, more Nazi in character than Bolshevik.
The Regime has three largely wholly owned subsidiaries: Academia (which it funds through grants and student loans), the Mainstream Media (which it directs), and its enforcement and terror branches (think brownshirts)— BLM, Antifa, Pro-Hamas Palestinians, urban street gangs and the Rainbow Jihad. As it failed to provide protection to the Supreme Court (and Secret Service protection to RFK, Jr.), The Regime has failed to check these branches when they act up, disrupt, and threaten, so we can only conclude that it has given its tacit assent to those threats.
The Regime’s Nazi character is beginning to reveal itself in two ways. First, it obsesses about race, and acts on it. Because we are nominally still a republic, the racialization is a bit uneven, but in deep blue areas like Chicago, Whites have been relegated to second class citizenship. As with Nazi Germany in the 1930’s, it is virtually impossible to have a job with any power in city government if you are white, despite the fact that the city’s population is nearly evenly distributed among Whites, Blacks and Hispanics. Former mayor Lori Lightfoot’s 10 year plan was focused entirely on Blacks, and she openly declared that she would only grant interviews to journalists “of color.” Brandon Johnson has dutifully followed in her footsteps, declaring that he has “a Black wife and Black children.” His X(Twitter) posts and other public statements reflect his posture, and rather than highlighting Chicago as a cosmopolitan city. New York mayor Eric Adams is no different and has been caught on tape talking about “crackers.” Much has been written about DEI in academia, government and big business, so I won’t repeat it here. Suffice it to say, if you’re a working class White kid from Omaha with a 4.0 GPA and 780 SAT, good luck getting into Stanford. Racialization of society is pure Third Reich stuff.
It was the events of 10/7 and its aftermath that caused me to shift my views. While the antisemitism of The Regime started to come out in relief as Nancy Pelosi elevated and mollycoddled Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, it has become undeniable since that horrific day. Its first signs came during the pandemic, with authorities throwing young Jewish moms off playgrounds, and spying on Jewish funerals in New York. Jews began to report that DEI “training” in corporations and nonprofits was tinged with antisemitism. Then came the random attacks on Jews in the streets of New York with '“the knock out game,” where Blacks ambushed and sucker punched Jews. The antisemitism boiled to the surface during the sharp questioning of the presidents of M.I.T., Harvard, and Penn by Congresswoman Elise Stefanik.
In addition to the racialization and antisemitism countenanced by The Regime, the push for “gender affirmation” (read sterilization) also echoes of Nazi Germany (and fundamentalist Islam as well). This abhorrent practice of genital mutilation and chemical castration with little or no scientific backing brings the horrors of Josef Mengele back to life. With the American Psychiatric Association instructing its members that they need to “affirm” a child’s own diagnosis of gender dysphoria, thousands of kids that might otherwise grow out of this phase are now nudged into this hideous practice. Following on its heels is sure to be an American version of MAID (in Canada Medical Assistance In Dying) which has been expanded to be made available to those with mental infirmities. We would do well to remember that the Nazis didn’t start with Jews; they started with the mentally ill and mentally handicapped individuals.
The conversion of the security and enforcement apparatuses (DOJ, F.B.I., C.I.A., and I.R.S) into political arms of The Regime are also Nazi (and Soviet) in nature. Denying the Jan 6 protesters a speedy trial is violative of the Constitution. The fake kidnapping of Gretchen Whitmer and FBI infiltration of 1/6 also raises lots of questions, as does the selective prosecution of Donald Trump under dubious pretexts (more on this later). In this regard, it’s hard to know whether The enforcement arms of The Regime hew closer to the Stasi or the Gestapo.
The conventional wisdom is that the Biden/Obama administration is Marxist in character. I believe that it is more of a hybrid Marxist/Nazi but is increasingly Nazi-like. It certainly does not bother to persuade citizens to its point of view. Rather, it relies on straight out lies (“the border is secure,” “crime is down,” “inflation is transitory,” “white supremacy is the biggest security threat”). Otherwise, it never addresses the legitimate concerns of the opposition. It merely demonizes those with a different perspective (“MAGA Extremists,” and the ubiquitous “racists”).
The great irony is that as a White, Christian male, I would be better off in some respects as a citizen of Israel than I am here in my home country. My vote would actually count in Israel. Not in Blue Illinois. I would be less discriminated against as a religious minority in Israel than I am as a White male here. And needless to say, Israel takes its sovereignty very, very seriously. An unimpeded Chinese spy balloon and 10 million or so unvetted illegal immigrants run roughshod over U.S. sovereignty.
Are we too far gone? I don’t know. I keep holding out hope that we are not. But just as it decries fascism and fearmongers about a Donald Trump dictatorship, it exhibits as many or more emblems of Nazism than Marxism.
